It’s not as though we need an excuse to get new shoes, but the arrival of another new year is as good an excuse as any! Most women of all ages are in love with shoes & handbags. When I was a young girl, walking home from school was rather a stressful affair with constant bending down to polish up the black patent shoes that were forever gathering dust.

Shoes and handbags are the great love of my life. They will never let you down, unlike the husband and other items of clothing and accessories that never seem to go on right. Shoes are reliable and they grab your attention. If I want to make a statement then it is my shoes that do the walking and the talking.

Shoes are an essential style statement and for this reason alone they are worth spending that little bit extra on. While the rest of your wardrobe might be falling apart or bursting at the seams your great new pair of heels will more than distract from this.

I find that dresses, skirts, blouses etc just let me down time and time again. What is it about blouses that they always seem to want to burst open in the wrong place at the wrong time? That new skirt you bought at Christmas has by now become more O line than A line. This is why I just don’t feel as much love for clothing.

Teach your little girl the value of good shoes from an early age; in fact let’s not forget little boys either. I have known women to dismiss potential love interests because of their footwear, so let’s change the way little boys approach footwear too.
