Identifying Your Fertile Days.
The first step to getting pregnant is to know when the perfect time to have sex with your partner is so you need to know your menstrual cycle really well. When you know when you are most fertile and when you are not, you will have a greater shot at getting pregnant. According to studies, the most fertile time to get pregnant is during the five days of ovulation. And in order to pinpoint on what week of the month those five days fall into, you need to understand the variations of your own menstrual cycle.
Understanding how your own menstrual cycle works will let you identify and predict later on exactly when your ovulation period occurs. However, some women are having problems pinpointing their fertile days because they do not follow regular cycles or they do not ovulate on a regular basis. For situations like this, seeking professional help to know your fertility periods is strongly recommended.
For women with regular menstrual cycles, there are several ways to identify the most fertile time to get pregnant. One of the most common ways is the traditional Calendar Method, where a woman’s most fertile time to get pregnant is tracked using a calendar (hence the name). Usually, women have a 28-day menstrual cycle. That means the first day of a woman’s menstruation happens 28 days before the next cycle of menstruation begins. If you have a 28-day cycle, ovulation is likely to take place on the 14th day of the cycle, and will be most fertile during the 5 days leading up to ovulation.
But while the Calendar Method is effective, there are some women who have problems with using this method because the actual date of ovulation varies from woman to woman – there are some women who have menstrual cycles that last up to eight weeks long, and are therefore not following a 28-day cycle. So in order to get a more accurate prediction of your fertility days, experts suggest that you pair the Calendar Method with other fertility awareness programs.
You can also determine your fertile day by take your basal body temperature, or BBT, every morning immediately after you wake up. Regularly checking your basal body temperature will show you some patterns on your cycle. On your first day of menstruation, take your basal body temperature and write down the temperature on a chart or on a calendar. Within the month, there will come a day when your temperature gets a spike – that spike is a sign that you are starting to ovulate. Soon enough, you will be able to predict around what time of the month your ovulation will start.
Knowing the most fertile time to get pregnant is one crucial piece of information that you have to know if you want to make sure that you get pregnant. It may not be easy and might get a little complicated along the way, but everything will be all worth in the end.
