Hi,? i’ve just started making these lovely booties, i had trouble decreasing down to 50 sts again, but after a lot of fiddling about, i found that instead of YON (Yarn Over Needle) i actually moved the yarn back under after each purl st. This way the sts decrease from 74 to 50.
It took a while for me to figure this out, since it doesnt mention it in the video. Hope it helps anyone else who’s making these booties.

@zasr71 the way that I read the pattern, the 4 rows of the lace stitch will actually have 74 sts until the final row where you do *p1 k2tog* to the end because the k2tog’s will undo the yo from the previous row, but? not the current one. you don’t need to be back to 50 sts until after the lace is completely done, and that creates the curve over the edges of the foot to the top.
@zasr71 When you yarn over and? then K2tog that cancel out the yo. Hope this helps. Let me know how you make out.

I think i may be miss reading the pattern.The 1st patterend row i end up with 74 sts,as Erika says .But on the second row instead of decresing to get down to 50 sts? i end up increasing because of the yon ,which increases a st.Can anyone help me as i’ve been trying to knit these booties for the past few weeks..
