Remember this the next time your children are creating an almighty racket when playing some ‘silly’ game, play can be crucial in a child’s development. Play shouldn’t simply be a means of distracting your child to keep them out of mischief; It should encourage a child to interact with their peers and establish valuable social skills. By playing in the right way, your child can improve their intellect and help them to exceed academically. Children are a lot like little sponges when it comes to learning. So it’s crucial to provide your children with the right toys that combine having fun and learning.

Construction toys such as Lego are great at developing a child’s creative tendencies. These toys are not only fun, but challenging. Each set of logo is aimed at a specific age group. The child can start with the basic sets and progress to the more complicated ones. As well as being learning toys, Lego and construction sets are great for socialising and sharing skills. Other inspiring toys are dolls houses, which funnily seem to be considered rather dated. But doll houses can encourage curiosity and imagination. Just because it doesn’t require batteries or have bright flashing lights doesn’t mean it isn’t a great all-round toy. Watching your child moving their toys in as they create stories and make up characters can pleasurable to witness, it can be like their own mini soap opera. In addition, Decorating a doll house can become a project which takes commitment and self-discipline; vital attributes needed in school.

Remember, children’s toys are supposed to be fun. Educational toys can be hugely beneficial to your child, although, if the toy isn’t challenging or exciting then you’re defeating the object. Finding that perfect toy that both stimulates and educates can be quite tricky, but by listening to your child’s opinion and researching the market you are sure to make a sound choice.
